Super Eagles’ workaholic midfield, Ogenyi Onazi, has extended his contract with Italian Serie A side, Lazio, till June 2018 thus putting to rest recent speculations about a possible move to German Bundesliga or English Premier League.
The 21-year-old Nigeria international has been in Lazio’s senior squad since July 2012 with his current contract set to expire in June 2016.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a deal was struck with agent, Jonathan Barnett, yesterday and will be announced over the weekend.
The extension will be until June 2018 with wages worth €0.7m per season, though there should also be a buy-out clause for €10m.
Onazi who has 21 caps for Nigeria with one goal has been the toast of fans of the Super Eagles
