Speaking on her defection, Adeleye-Oladapo, who earlier defected from the PDP to APC, stated that her action is constitutional.
“In line with Section 109 sub-section 1 of the 1999 Constitution as amended, I believe I have the freedom to move from one party to another,” she stated.
It was gathered that the lawmaker had on Tuesday defected to the PDP in Ewekoro area of Ogun and also submitted her letter of intent to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives on the platform of PDP.
Meanwhile, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, during the plenary, requested approval for Ogun government to facilitate the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Micro Small and Medium enterprises development fund scheme.
Amosun drew the attention of the House to the N22 billion development fund scheme for micro-small and medium enterprises recently launched by the Federal Government in which Ogun government had been invited to participate to the tune of N2 billion.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Surajudeen Adekunbi read the letter from the governor to the lawmakers.
Amosun said that the fund would be made available at low interest rate to micro, small and medium enterprises across the state.
“There is need for Ogun state to participate in the scheme through the Ogun Agricultural and Multi Credit Agency and access the fund as participating financial institution,” Amosun stated.
It would be recalled that Nigeria’s Vice-President, Alhaji Namadi Sambo had called on aggrieved members of the PDP that have defected to opposition parties to return to the party.
Sambo said this during PDP North-west zone stakeholders’ meeting held in Kaduna, northern Nigeria at the weekend.
